1Â Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.
2Â I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
2Â Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
1Â “Beware of practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2Â “So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
1Â Shout out, do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Announce to my people their rebellion, to the house of Jacob their sins.
2Â Yet day after day they seek me and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that practiced righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God.
1Â The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
2Â The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.
