Psalm 51:1-17
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

1Â “Beware of practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2Â “So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
1Â Shout out, do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Announce to my people their rebellion, to the house of Jacob their sins.
2Â Yet day after day they seek me and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that practiced righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments, they delight to draw near to God.
1Â The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
2Â The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.
1Â Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain, by themselves.
2Â And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white.
16Â For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty.
