The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul? I have rejected him from being king over Israel. Fill your horn with oil and set out; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”
2Â Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears of it, he will kill me.” And the Lord said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’
O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2Â Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3Â For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
5Â So he came to a Samaritan city called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
6Â Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired out by his journey, was sitting by the well. It was about noon.
7Â A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.”
1Â Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2Â through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.
1Â I lift up my eyes to the hills- from where will my help come?
2Â My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3Â He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
