17Â If you invoke as Father the one who judges all people impartially according to their deeds, live in reverent fear during the time of your exile.
18Â You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold,
13Â Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem,
14Â and talking with each other about all these things that had happened.
15Â While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them,
16Â but their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
6Â Your boasting is not a good thing. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?
7Â Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch, as you really are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.
6Â On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wines, of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines strained clear.
7Â And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up death forever.
9Â Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye wastes away from grief, my soul and body also.
10Â For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my misery, and my bones waste away.
