Psalm 65:(1-8), 9-13
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion,
and to you shall vows be performed.
Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion,
and to you shall vows be performed.
For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
And light unto my path.
I have sworn, and have confirmed it,
That I will observe thy righteous ordinances.
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac: and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.
But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, who call unto their fellows and say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not mourn. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a demon.
For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do.
